East Anglia, 1845 Eunice Fuller is from a simple country community on the Maybush Estate, Blythburgh, but life suddenly changes. Her daddy dies.
Survival in 1845 is a hard struggle for most of England, but when you lose your father, the entire family pays, and there are many ways in which payment can be extracted from the poor.
Eunice ends up in Great Yarmouth for her sins, and watches Nelson The Clown float along the River Bure in a tub, when destiny calls her to follow. But, where is detiny leading her, if anywhere?
As Madame Mary explains, "If I told you your real future, you'd choose not to believe it."
Life goes on, or does it?
Eunice tells the story, (which is, allegedly, true,) of her struggle to understand her new life.
