This book presents optimized design procedure of an area lighting scheme using Genetic Algorithm (GA) based optimization technique. For a lighting design scheme there are numbers of design variables. So to regulate the design variables and to reach the optimum design solution optimization technique is established as a better option in this paper. Here firstly the aiming angle calculation of the luminaires is done based on the theory of 3-D geometry and Monte Carlo Simulation. The average maintained illuminance value for this specific area is derived from the MATLAB simulation which is not as per the design requirement. GA based optimization tool improves the design solution by optimizing the angle of aiming for the luminaires and established the condition for optimum design solution.
