Andrea, a PhD in counseling, is kidnapped after being mistaken for her housemate, the daughter of a billionaire. Her two kidnappers take her deep into the mountains as winter nears. When they discover their mistake they leave her tied to a tree and try to leave. Their escape is blocked by heavy snow in the only pass into and out of the valley. Andrea is saved by a man and his three dogs who discover her as she starts to freeze to death. Ed takes her back to his cabin to get her warm. She is suspicious of him, especially after he tells her they can't leave until the spring. Eventually, she learns to trust him and the two fall in love. Meanwhile, one of the kidnappers sees her. Ed, armed with a rifle, goes after him. He is forced to kill one of the kidnappers and takes the other prisoner. That kidnapper is fixated on Andrea and keeps trying to start a relationship with her.
