In the writings of Jacob Boehme there is a "doctrine of signatures." Michel Foucault noted that, in the tradition of signatures, resemblance organizes "the play of symbols." In an adaptation of this insight, we explore, in this present book, the notion of reverie. What is reveriesial writing like? It is like drawing near to a fire. This fire, in contemporary language, is the imaginal realm.
This book is intended to reflect a kind of "reasoning" in a space of freedom about "Babylon" and what it is like to be "leaving Babylon." It is a book about where we live now, including the regularity of "tending the roots" (as a kind of "roots Christianity"). Fundamentally, the book is about divine illumination and the ancient tradition from which it comes.
