When Assistant Ballet Instructor, Charlotte Simmer, is able to secure a prima ballerina to take the lead role for the annual production of The Nutcracker, the entire community is abuzz.
Tragedy strikes the small Connecticut ballet studio, however, and a heartless murder dampens the holiday spirit of the dancers and their community. Madame Baudon, the owner of the studio, insists that the show must go on, because it's a charity event, and she has a few tricks up her sleeve that might make the holidays a bit brighter.
Charlotte can't shake the feeling that she's responsible for getting to the bottom of the mystery that has rocked the ballet world and finds herself being drawn into a dark web of intrigue that could very well put her in a dangerous position.
