You might meet this stranger on the train or at the bus stop, or in a cafe sitting at the next table or even strolling in a park. Perhaps you've seen them before in or around your own neighbourhood? Maybe yes maybe no. But that doesn't really matter because now you're making conversation and hopefully this person will respond in a friendly manner. A few cheerful words to help break through the English reserve, and the weather is always a good start.'It's pleasantly warm for the time of year,' you will say.'And after the terrible weather/rain we've been having of late -,' will be the answer.
