No human would suspect gentle, eccentric Professor Ruben Welch of being the leader of a clandestine group of Christian believers who are addressing a hidden evil in the world. But the enemy has used artificial intelligence to see beyond human perspective. Now Welch is caught between a cold, calculating assassin, a ruthless enemy trouble-shooter, and an agent of legendary beauty.

Sent by rival enemy factions, the assassin has deadly skills and the troubleshooter has a deadly plan. Both aim to destroy Welch's entire team. The troubleshooter has deployed a betrayer and a new type of virus, genetically keyed for one purpose. The deadly germ is meant to be carried back to the heart of Welch's group and kill them all.
