Chased by people who want to wield the unseen energy that underpins all of reality for their own dark purposes, Charlie and her cousin Noah must get a dangerous, unstable supernatural artifact into the safety of the Agency that can protect it.

Noah Brooks craves order and control. Determined to play it safe in life, having just graduated college and about to start his dream job, Noah is thrown off course by a chaotic, last-minute road trip to drive a distant cousin, Charlie, from L.A. to New York. Noah is given an ancient Chevrolet to drive, a car his eccentric grandmother claims is inhabited by the ghost of the father who died too young for Noah to know him. Charlie is secretive about her mission, the supernatural object she's hiding in the trunk, and the pair of thugs desperate to stop them. The trip shatters Noah's belief in an orderly, scientifically-explainable Universe, and exposes him to the role his family plays in protecting the world from those who would wield the unseen energy that underpins all of reality for their own dark purposes.
