Neeli Devi

'Neeli Devi' - this character fell as a spark into my thoughts, and over time, grew into a raging forest fire, consuming my writing. Her sorrow, her fury, her vengeful aggression, and finally the divine evolution she attains - all of these captivated me and challenged me as a writer.

Born into the Dasi clan, deceived and killed, rising as a vengeful spirit, and finally evolving into the guardian deity of the people, a goddess of justice - her journey touches upon the peak emotions of human life and the mysteries of the divine simultaneously.

By writing this novel, I wished to present an ancient folklore to today's readers in a new dimension without destroying its essence. My main objective was to explore a woman's ceaseless struggle against injustice, the justification of her uncontainable rage, the complex nature of the emotion called revenge, and finally, how divine grace embraces everything.

Although I have introduced some fictional characters and events with the freedom inherent to historical fiction, I have tried to remain true to the soul of Neeli Devi's original story and its cultural background.
