This collection of activities is based on a weekly series of space science problems intended for students looking for additional challenges in the mathematics and physical science curriculum in grades 6-12. The problems deal with modern science and engineering issues, often involving actual research data.

The section titles in this 75-problem collection include:

-- The Drake Equation
-- Searching for Extra Terrestrials.

Each word problem includes background information. One-page teachers' answer keys accompany the one-page assignments.
