My First Objects is a high contrast beginner's book for newborns ages 0-4 months. It includes playful and useful designs to help you and your baby define important objects used in your day to day relationship. A newborn is new to the world so if we don't teach them the words and concepts used to communicate their needs, then that relationship of trust and joy will be limited. I wrote this book in order to help bridge that knowledge gap between you and your baby. The better the communication, the happier the baby.

What is High Contrast and why is it useful?

Newborns are not yet accustomed to viewing the world like us adults. That means colors, objects and movement can be overwhelming and difficult to focus on. Higher contrast makes for easier viewing and better focus. Contrast implies difference. High Contrast means more difference for your baby to notice

There is evidence that introducing High Contrast images to your newborn can guide them to focus and concentrate at a faster level than not doing so. Regardless of the positive effects, observe your baby taking in this experience and decide for yourself.
