Missions in the Dark

Xie was a curious, dangerous child, she was in life only four years old a machine life form with something to prove. Her vocation had earned her more than 50 bodies to satisfy a cruel but brilliant commander. All in a days work for him, but his student, his tool, was growing, experiencing life in ways few could have predicted and she didn't like the person she was becoming. Should she continue to listen to him just because he was her father? Her mentor? Was there another path?

Xie had always done exactly what she said she would and Admiral Kane would die at her hands, that was certain, but he was protected, only someone from his inner circle could get within range of her blades, she would have to pretend to be human, civil, and ideal for those who would see her as an asset, this wasn't something she had trained for and Venefic wasn't patient with results. The concern that he shared a face with her target did give her some pause, but only long enough to make sure she did it right, there was still so much more to do, people were still a mystery to her.

Was this a suicide mission, it seemed to planned to not have a plan b but it hadn't been shared with her, what else didn't she know? What would she do once she learned the truth?
