Maya

Maya is enduring a nightmarish childhood. Desperate to feel that she can control some part of her life, she sinks into anorexia. This results in what seems to be an inescapable dead end - since she is literally dying. Despite this, her body, which seemed to be supernaturally strong, eventually collapses. Maya has always felt that she was somehow "different" from everyone else. As she collapses onto the ground she disappears....and awakens.... somewhere else. As she returns to consciousness and begins to recover, she is forced to completely rethink the scientific worldview she grew up with....as the place she inhabits now is like no other that she has seen or heard of. As her new life progresses Maya has to develop a new view of the universe and her place in it. She will not only find her own magic but her 'soul family' as well.
