Earth, 2080. An alliance with the alien world Sarsina offers humanity a chance at a new Golden Age, and Captain Kedron Trent's mission is to protect it. As a Bion, a soldier rebuilt with cutting-edge cybernetics, Kedron is a highly effective, stoic leader, yet he lives in the friction between his biological instincts and the digital coldness of his enhancements. He and his five-person counter-terrorism team are the Manipulus.

When terrorists begin threatening human ventures on Sarsina, the fragile galactic peace is thrown into peril. Kedron and his elite team deploy to the alien world with a critical mission: to expose the terrorist plot and neutralize the threat before the budding relationship between the two worlds collapses into war.

On Sarsina, something dark begins to stir inside Kedron. He fights an internal battle against the cybernetic functions that threaten to strip him of his humanity while demanding total adherence to duty. Soon, he realizes that the mission's constraints cannot account for the violence the enemy truly deserves. His disciplined military control doesn't break-it evolves into a cold conviction that his mandate must be enforced through unfiltered retribution.

Kedron's loyalty to duty is absolute, but his restraint is fracturing. The mission demands obedience, but his conscience demands a reckoning.
