Sadie Rosemond is a wife, artist, and mother who has everything she ever needed materialistically - success in her career, wonderful family and friends...but something is missing. She is so discouraged by how much people lack compassion for one another. She has tried to explain to people how to change this and has failed again and again.
Realizing she can't make people happy after an emotional and very painful struggle to help her husband and others find happiness in their hearts, she gives up and falls into despair herself.
When, while at her art show, she publicly voices a wish to find a place of all good where everyone is happy and content to just "be," an old man hears her plea and tells her he can send her to such a place...on one condition.
