LOVE WITHOUT A MAP

This book is written for those in a relationship or marriage who cannot quite explain why they are in it, who are giving effort without knowing what they are building toward or why.
It is written for the person who has just come out of something painful and is trying to understand not just what went wrong, but what part of it they were responsible for, not to punish, but to grow in a way that is actually useful.
It is written for those who are beginning or are in an intermediate stage in their relationship or marriage but lack the tools needed for a better future together.
It is written for the mother who is watching her daughter make choices that concern her and does not know how to begin the conversation. It is written for the older woman who has been married for years and is reading this with the particular recognition of someone who knows these pages intimately from the inside.
It is written for anyone who has ever felt that love should be simpler than it is, and who suspects, somewhere underneath that feeling, that the difficulty is not evidence that love is impossible.
This book is that map. Imperfection, as all maps drawn from personal experience are imperfect. Specific to one woman's terrain, though I believe the terrain is recognizable enough to be useful across many lives. Honest in the way that only something written at real cost can be.
