An offbeat love story with a futuristic angle. Set in the crazed, politically-correct Hollywood of the near future, handsome, charismatic leading man Tristan has just joined a dysfunctional film set in the sweltering tinderbox grasslands below Malibu Canyon. Despotic indie director Greenman has fired the three previous leading men and sidekick Andrew is convinced the new lead will be the next casualty-nobody can please Greenman. But all of a sudden the director is on his best behavior and is utterly polite to his new leading man and the rest of the cast. Everything is going just perfectly. This has never happened on a Greenman film, but not even Michelle, Tristan's leading lady, notices anything odd about this. Andrew refuses to believe it's real. He becomes obsessed with discovering what's really going on. Novelette, 72 pages.
