Lethal Legacies

As raging wildfires decimate Northern California, the government
invites the nation's most formidable water expert to advise on
containment. Turning to his attorney, Billy Solomon, for legal input,
Billy punts the issue to his primary associate, Tawny Martinique, who
also happens to be his fiancé. Stunned with the
assignment, surprisingly she suggests a plausible solution and the
California authorities ask to meet in the Sonoma Valley. Billy's
largest client decides to forego this jaunt to finish putting his
house in order so Billy uses his client's absence to justify bringing
his newest partner, Mark Malone, along, The junior partner proved
himself in other matters and was open to following directions from an
associate on large agency cases that Tawny handles exclusively with
the department head. Mark is not as agile as the boss and his love but
Billy and Tawny give him a hand and keep him on track.

The journey to the Pacific Coast should be quick and easy but instead,
the laborious trip is filled with heartache and bodily risk.
Encountering seasoned firefighters, the three attorneys struggle to
learn all they need to know to address the government's inquiry. Known
as 'hotshots' because they have faced the most challenging and the
most intense of the wildfires, the firefighters are not pleased the
attorneys are wandering in their territory. Dismissing them after
providing only basic information, the attorneys must examine the
protected perimeter alone. The task is a boring one until the heat
between Billy and Tawny matches the intensity of the out of control
blaze headed their way.
