In Learning ABCs with Squish, Squish the squishy purple block turns into every letter of the alphabet, from A to Z, while Lilyan asks the questions and cheers him on. Each page shows one big, friendly letter, a simple everyday object that starts with it, and the word in clear capital letters, so little readers can match the letter, the picture and the word.

Squish becomes a giant A beside an apple, a B beside a ball, a C beside a car, and so on all the way to a Z beside a zebra. At the bottom corner of every page, a small helper shows the current letter and the next one, with a question mark in between, so toddlers can guess what is coming before they turn the page. After every few letters, a review page asks "What Letter Is That?" and lets children point and name the letters and objects they have just met.

This is a gentle, concept-only picture book. It has no lessons to memorize and no pressure, only bright pictures, repeating patterns and a happy purple friend. It is a good fit for read-aloud time, for early letter recognition and for children who love to point and shout the answer.

The book ends with A Note for Grown-Ups that shares seven simple tips for reading together, including reading it again and again, pointing instead of quizzing, and spotting letters in the real world.
