This book is written through the eyes of a young girl who saw herself alone throughout her youth and was destined to fail. Having to witness her mother go down a path of addiction to gambling, she had to grow up alone without a constant role model to support her creativity and aspirations.

Based on her true stories from her upbringing in New York City to her enlistment in the United States Military. She details how a tumultuous upbringing and lack of nurturing brought about a lack of self-worth and self-acceptance, leading to self-discovery and success.
