Lament

"LAMENT: 100 Prayers of Self-Reflection, Confession, and Meditation" is a collection of raw and unfiltered conversations with God. They are deeply vulnerable yet grounded in Biblical truth. Prayers of lament are opportunities to bear our souls before the Lord as we seek answers to daily trials. They connect our hearts to Jesus when our minds are weary and affirm our trust in His sovereignty when all hope seems lost. When we offer our humble confessions to the Lord, we find comfort knowing He empathizes with our sufferings. No matter how bad our circumstances may be, we can rest assured that joy comes in the morning to those who trust in Him alone for salvation.

Prayers of lament are far more than venting sessions. Each time we purge our minds of negativity, we give the Holy Spirit opportunity to preach the Gospel to our hearts. The key is to be real, raw, and honest, because the Lord is not offput by the volatility of our emotions. Rather, He allows us to freely purge our minds without fear of condemnation or judgment. All we must do is examine our hearts, confess our thoughts and feelings, and meditate deeply on the absolute truth of Scripture to find rest amid the storms of life. Only then will we discover "the peace of God which surpasses all understanding" (Phil. 4:7) which guards our minds from self-destruction.
