Her fiancé dumped and fired Delia Becker last year at Christmas. She's been scrambling ever since to make ends meet. This year, her roommate is having a massive holiday celebration with events every evening for a week. There's no way she wants to be part of that nonsense. In a desperate attempt to run away from life and the holidays, she escapes to her brother's duplex in the ridiculously small town of Crackleberry Ridge. All she wants is time to heal and realign her life.

Nolan Taylor is an MMA fighter on the mend from career-ending injuries sustained in a skiing accident. He's got no degree to fall back on, no prospects for a job, and no hope for the future. Hiding from the press, he runs home to lick his wounds and rethink his plans. Luckily, his newly retired parents have left on a month-long holiday cruise of the Mediterranean and he's got their tiny duplex all to himself.
