irra is a former stripper and self-proclaimed cashed-up bogan. She parties like a rugby league player and treats every Friday like it's Mad Monday, spending the following days hungover and miserable. She is constantly fighting with everyone she works with, can't stop hooking up with losers, and treats her body and income like they're both disposable.

Jane is a partner at a top-tier law firm who bills more than anyone she works with. She speaks multiple languages, has a photographic memory, and never misses a workout. She was a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford, has an enviable mentorship with a leader in her field, and her best friend is a doctor.

Unfortunately for Jane and Kirra, they're the same person.

Kirra has managed to keep her personal and professional lives separate for a long time, but as she approaches her thirty-fifth birthday, cracks start to appear. Brisbane is a small place, her colleagues already want her gone, and above all else, she's tired.

Kizrat is a story about the double lives many of us lead-never really fitting in anywhere we go, or simply being a bit "too much". It shows that removing your armour, opening yourself up to heartache, and confronting your past allows those who love you to see the real you, not just the parts you allow the world to see.

Kizrat is AJ Aikens' debut novel, and the first in a series of (at least) two books.
