Book 1: Kindness Grows

In the cheerful village of Maple Grove, best friends Jameson (an energetic, rule-loving squirrel), Rylie (a spunky, quirky monkey), and Eli (a laid-back, humorous bear) learn that a new little bunny named Lila has moved in and feels shy and lonely.

Excited to welcome her, the three friends decide to throw the "best welcome party ever." Jameson wants everything done perfectly and fairly, Rylie adds her creative, silly touches, and Eli goes with the flow while cracking jokes. They gather berries, balloons, and ribbons, but Jameson's excitement causes a big mess, he accidentally knocks over the basket, spilling berries everywhere.

Frustrated and discouraged (especially Jameson, who hates when plans go wrong), the friends realize kindness feels hard when things get messy. They go to the Rooted Tree, where wise Miss Olive gently reminds them that true kindness doesn't come from trying really hard on our own. It grows naturally when our hearts stay rooted in Jesus and His love.

The friends pray together, asking Jesus to grow His kindness in their hearts. With calmer spirits and renewed joy, they clean up the mess, finish the party basket (imperfect but full of love), and welcome Lila with open arms. Lila's face lights up, and soon four friends are laughing and playing together.

By the end of the day, the three friends realize that kindness feels much better and grows more easily when it flows from Jesus instead of forcing perfection or fairness.
