In the early 2000s Lyme disease was not considered to be a prevalent or formidable disease, especially in the Midwestern state of Wisconsin. The consensus at the time was that it was easy to diagnose and even easier to treat. The mere mention of chronic Lyme disease was scoffed at and would have you labeled as an attention seeker, weak, and by some, as crazy.

Lyme disease derailed the promising future of an up-and-coming teenager.

The effects made for a major humbling experience and an almost unbelievable lengthy, uphill fight.
