A tourist-trap stop outside Stephen King's house is supposed to be a harmless family-photo moment-until Robert Worley meets Chase Smith on the sidewalk and everything in Robert's carefully controlled world tilts.

Robert is steady, earnest, and allergic to attention. He's a "good kid" with a lifetime habit of performing normal so well he sometimes forgets what he actually wants. Years later, they collide again in Dalton during the town's fall "Horror & Harvest" fundraiser-spooky book club, costume trivia, scary-story night in The Rectory, and a haunted hayride that practically demands jump-scare proximity. Dalton is small, nosy, and dangerously invested in other people's love lives... which makes secrets hard to keep and half-truths impossible to survive.

As old shame resurfaces and new feelings refuse to stay quiet, Robert and Chase have to decide what's scarier: being seen, or letting the best thing they've ever felt become "just a hookup" in someone else's story.
