We believe that the people and events that have the most impact on our lives are also the most memorable. We also believe that were any of those that are closest to us were to leave our lives, the impact would be staggering and noticeable. But what if we are wrong? What if there have been important people in our lives who have vanished - gone to a place so unimaginably remote that it goes beyond distance itself. And they have vanished with our cherished memories of them. They have disappeared into a hole and the hole has disappeared with them. What would our lives be like afterwards - for ourselves - and for the vanished souls.Randy and his older brother Paul go through this very ordeal and in the process learn that some of the things that they always believed about themselves - and the universe they live in - have been horribly wrong. After the dark night that Paul disappears into another world, Randy doesn't even notice his brother is gone - he doesn't even remember he had a brother. But he does begin to sense that something is very wrong with his world and the more he investigates, the worse things become for him. Meanwhile, Paul is just beginning a terrible fight for his own survival - and the survival of all mankind against an enemy so horrific it never should have existed.The fight for awareness itself has begun...
