When Amanda showed up, Jean-Paul was coming down, (which meant that everything he'd discovered while he was high was a lie), and, as such, he was like a divorcee that returns to an empty house full of dread and consternation-until, finally, they eat something and go to sleep. That was good for Amanda, however; the actor, when he's coming down, is liable to agree to anything that might have an off chance of making him feel better, and, so, when Amanda asked him what happened to Erika Koering, he broke down in tears. That shouldn't have happened; Jean-Paul had plenty of experience coming off a drug, and like every drug user, he'd overlook the comedown in favor of getting high again, and so Amanda was forced to assume that Jean-Paul knew something-or, at the very least, he'd been a part of Erika's life-perhaps a bigger part than Amanda anticipated.
