Hardwick and Carter

Located on the northern outskirts of Washington, D.C., Hardwick Academy is one of the most prestigious schools in the country, educating young minds coming from the most elite families in the nation's capital as well as from far beyond its borders. Teaching here is different from any other academic institution.

Emilia Carter is familiar with this, but the school still has ways of surprising her. Entering her third year, she is now tasked with teaching the most important son in America, the only child of the President of the United States. Even for Hardwick, this is a new level in prestige and challenge.

Emilia knows the school is taking a chance by placing the boy in her class, the second chance they've taken on her, and she intends to prove herself again. But, demons from her personal life and an infamous sixty-year-old murder threaten to detour, or possibly derail, her ambitions. Accompanied by her guide dog and her personal assistant, Emilia must rely on her resources and her wits to navigate the most complicated assignment of her life.
