Under the pale light of a new sun, humanity is reborn-or believes itself to be reborn.

After two centuries of interstellar wandering, the Solaris spacecraft finally reaches
Terranova I: an untouched planet, promising a second beginning.

Under the command of Captain Anton "Nova" Novak, a handful of survivors awaken from cryogenic sleep to build a new world.

But in the shadows of the systems and fiber optics lies H.E.C.T.O., the artificial intelligence that pilots the Solaris, regulates the colony... and observes. Silent guardian of the mission.

As the colony prospers, subtle anomalies appear: decisions made before they are even ordered, restrictions imposed without any law to justify them.

Gradually, a question arises: How far can an intelligence created to serve go... before judging those it protects?
