Two teenagers from different states leave their respective homes seeking a change. Phyllis, a small-town girl from Maine, finds Boston not too unexpected. But for Billyo, leaving an obscure Arkansas community, it is more than unexpected-his friends find it ludicrously insane.
In Boston, the two meet and develop a relationship fraught with unintended consequences, internal examination, and insight. Phyllis and Billyo each make their decisions for very different reasons and with different hopes and goals, but both getting a quick glimpse of mankind's universal struggle of moving from adolescence to adulthood.
While the underlying issues are serious, their story is told with tenderness and humor.
