When a god disappears, the fate of Ze World is left in the hands of two enemies, each from rival schools of Magic.

Reluctant hero Vejuna Fandango swore she'd never meddle in Ze World's problems-not when the high stakes of taking on a quest to help the gods could attract unwanted and deadly attention. But when Mabon is godnapped and Magic starts dying, she must put her fears on the back-burner and call on a most unlikely ally.

Bolonius Piliferakis's specialty is traveling to other dimensions, but despite him being the only one able to help her prevent the destruction of their world, Vejuna finds his brand of Magic insufferable. Unfortunately, his wizarding and her witchery are Ze World's last hope, forcing them to at least collaborate long enough to save the god in distress.

But Bolonius's spite of Vejuna's magical practice, coupled with a dark secret that haunts him, makes finding the missing god before Ze World disintegrates quite the challenge. And as the fragile alliance traps them between their fears and their rivalry, the pair soon discovers just how much they are willing to risk...and what those risks will cost them.
