GLORY IN THE HEIGHTS!

The sun is up and the heat is scorching. From the east, a divine being is slowly approaching the city, riding a donkey to fulfill an ancient prophecy. Along the way, a crowd of people spread their cloaks on the road and some spread branches they had cut in the fields. Children from all over the place follow the unusual procession, shouting. Some grab palm branches and go out to meet them, while others, singing and dancing, waving frantically in welcome. Seized by a gloomy feeling, the local authorities don't take kindly to the event and are plotting among themselves how to put an end to the madness emanating from the streets. Near the eastern gate, the commotion increases. Step by step, the deity makes his way through the crowd, heading for the temple built on top of a hill, which vividly reflects the sunlight on its gates. Inside the city, the crowd, in an uproar, asks: "Who is this, coming to us so boldly?" Something very important is taking place, but only the master knows the meaning of this drama, which has repercussions right up to the frontiers of the cosmos. To this day, people celebrate this glorious moment without having any idea of its real meaning. It is something that goes beyond the imagination of those who read the scriptures literally: the celebration of a cycle that will be repeated every year until the end of all ages.
