What does it mean to be a hero? What does it take to become a villain?
After battle reunites them, Miel learns what happened to Luminor the night of the Janai raid, but her closest friends - who've just turned out to be creatures of legend - think her brother's lying. To rescue her parents, she'll have to prove her friends wrong and become a legend herself.
As Luminor joins Miel and her suspicious companions, he wonders if he can - or even if he should - save his sister from the evil goddess chasing her. If the suspicions about him are true, the fate of all Oren rests in his hands, and he must decide - once and for all - whose side he's on.
Even as the battle lines are drawn between two opposing forces older than Oren, a new enemy appears on the battlefield - an enigmatic madman with powers unlike anything anyone's ever seen. And the only side he's on is his own.
