Teenagers often struggle with obeying rules and authority figures during adolescence as they strive to establish their independence and identity. This can be seen through behaviors such as arguing, making excuses, defying authority, and avoiding responsibility. During this difficult phase of their lives, it's crucial for adults to offer guidance, support, and empathy. As parents, it's our responsibility to teach our young adults the value of biblical obedience, helping them understand its significance in their relationship with God.

By teaching teenagers the deeper meaning of obedience, we're not only fostering a sense of responsibility and accountability in them, but also nurturing their spiritual growth. By helping them understand that obedience is a way to show love and respect for God, they're more likely to willingly and happily comply with the rules and guidelines set for them. Additionally, understanding the reasons behind obedience can help them see the bigger picture and understand how their actions have consequences not only in their own lives, but also in the lives of others. Through genuine biblical obedience, teens learn to prioritize their relationship with God above all else, leading them to make decisions that align with His will and purpose for their lives. This foundation equips them to navigate the challenges and temptations of the world with grace and strength, knowing that they are guided by a higher power and for a greater purpose. Moreover, instilling these values early on in life helps them to build a strong moral compass that will serve them well into adulthood. As children grow, lessons of obedience and respect will form the bedrock of their character, influencing their choices and actions in every aspect of their lives.

God has a lot to say about obedience, and in this 6-week, 30-day biblical study, your child will learn what true obedience is and why it is significant in their relationship with God. They will be challenged to examine their thoughts and actions as they learn how, when, and why they should obey, as well as the consequences of disobedience. This study will equip young adults with the tools that God provides to help them obey even when it is difficult. Through this journey in scripture, your child will be empowered to trust and follow God's guidance with obedience that comes from the heart.

This teen study is designed for children ages 13+ and is structured in a way that gradually expands on different dimensions of obedience each day. It is recommended that you allow your teen to complete the study independently. You can then review their daily work, discuss any talking points, and provide additional guidance as necessary. Bible verses referenced use the NIV translation. Please note that this study is a consumable resource, so if you have multiple children participating, each child will require their own separate book.
