Have you ever met someone who almost died the exact same way, twice?

Lailani Grander is the girl who likes to skip to the end, never caring to savor the journey. But after her second brush with death, she's forced to confront the uncomfortable question: Why is she still alive?

While her favorite thing to say is "nothing lasts forever," Lailani's struggling to understand how she survived what should have been her end... Again.

At the kick-off party for The Reliving, someone takes the "Forever Young" theme too literally, and tries to make sure Lailani doesn't survive the night. She can't quite remember what happened, but she knows this wasn't an accident, and that her would-be-murderer simply didn't finish the job. Now she needs to know who wanted her gone, and why.

In trying to make sense of her situation, flash memories of the party, and other pivotal moments, begin to surface-forcing Lailani to focus on her need for control, her capacity for love, and the possible motives of those closest to her, making her doubt everything she thinks she knows.

As suspicion grows and trust unravels, Lailani must decide who to believe, and whether the bonds she's always relied on are real, or if they've been altered by distance, time, and her own need for detachment. Is she even allowed to feel betrayed by the secrets they're keeping, when she has a pretty big secret of her own?
