"Folk Dances for Boys and Girls" is a foundational resource designed to bring the joy and cultural richness of traditional dance to young learners. Curated by Mary Effie Shambaugh, this work serves as an instructional guide for educators, physical education instructors, and community leaders seeking to incorporate movement and folklore into their curricula.

The collection features a wide variety of dances sourced from diverse global traditions, each selected for its suitability for children's developmental stages. The text provides clear instructions for formations, steps, and rhythmic patterns, making it a practical tool for both classroom settings and recreational play. Beyond the physical exercise, the work emphasizes the social and historical value of folk traditions, fostering a sense of community and an appreciation for international heritage.

By bridging the gap between physical activity and cultural education, "Folk Dances for Boys and Girls" remains a significant contribution to the field of rhythmic arts and childhood pedagogy.
