What once brought embarrassment now brings applause; what once was hidden in the quiet of intimacy is broadcast to the multitudes. We expose our bodies to gain followers, we shape our bodies for validation, and we cloak our flaws not with garments but with filters. The Psalmist wrote, "I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made" yet many of us have learned to worship the digital reflection instead of the Creator. This book is not merely about flesh; it is about a hunger for approval, a hunger that is never satisfied. Like the Tower of Babel, our platforms rise higher and higher, built on the pursuit of being seen.
But at what cost? Here, we peel back the layers to confront the truth, exposure without purpose leads not to freedom, but to captivity. I was born into a Christian family, surrounded by prayer, faith, and the warmth of fellowship. As a child, I loved everything about church life the singing, the community, and the sense of belonging. But at the age of sixteen, something in me shifted. I found myself drawn into a different world, one that promised excitement and freedom. Parties, drinking, smoking, and immorality soon became my new lifestyle. I even embraced provocative dressing, believing it was the path to beauty, acceptance, and relevance.
In the culture I stepped into, social media became my stage. Every time I posted a picture or video of myself dressed seductively, the likes and comments flowed like water. Strangers affirmed me, and for a moment, I felt seen.
Yet behind the carefully filtered images was a heart covered in scars. Beneath the makeup and attention lived loneliness, rejection, and a deep sense of unworthiness.
The truth was that my self-esteem had never been lower. I was broken, hiding behind the screen of a phone, exposing my flesh to the world while my soul starved for true love. This cycle continued until I encountered Christ in a way I could not ignore. His presence touched the deepest parts of my brokenness. I began to see that the "exposure" I sought through the approval of others could never heal me it only deepened the void. Jesus, however, clothed me with a new identity, one not dependent on filters or provocative images, but on His love and grace. "
