This book is an upgraded edition of the Erhu Performance Tutorial by Professor Yue Feng, who has over a decade of experience teaching middle-aged and elderly learners. The complete set consists of three volumes, designed specifically for middle-aged and elderly friends as well as Erhu enthusiasts with no prior experience, making it a practical arts textbook for senior universities.

The lower volume includes four parts: Part One comprises 22 pieces for training various Erhu techniques; Part Two features 20 selected Erhu solo pieces; Part Three contains 26 selected pieces suitable for group rehearsals and performances; and Part Four provides troubleshooting guidance on Erhu-covering topics such as teaching materials and editions, tuning and fingering/bowing techniques, principles of modulation, common left- and right-hand issues, practice methods, and instrument-related knowledge. The appendices include commonly used musical terms and notations, a comprehensive guide to Erhu performance symbols, fingerboard charts for the seven common keys in Erhu, reference diagrams for common Erhu ensemble formations, and instructions for video tutorials. The book also comes with nearly a hundred audio and video resources, with most pieces accompanied by instructional explanations and demonstration performances.
