C'est la lettre qui norme la quête. Comme le récit biblique constitue la matière première de l'investigation, la lecture est une pratique qui consiste à "faire accueil" à la densité de la lettre hébraïque, aux points-voyelles, aux accents conjonctifs-disjonctifs, au verset, au discours, au texte. C'est au cours de la lecture que les versets se chargent de références, se gonflent d'allusions, disent plus que ce que nous croyons leur faire dire, font sens.
