Enough Grace

Enough Grace is the true story of a year that should not have worked out the way it did.

In January 2025, Lake and Ashley Johnson welcomed their first pregnancy after two years of infertility, two surgeries, failed IUIs, and a round of IVF that gave them five embryos and one answered prayer. Three months later, Lake was diagnosed with testicular cancer with a germ cell tumor in his abdomen. What followed was nine months of chemotherapy, a major surgery, the removal of a kidney, two additional rounds of treatment, and the birth of their daughter Harper, who arrived three weeks before the most difficult surgery of the year.

This is not a story about a man who handled everything perfectly. It is a story about a man who chose, repeatedly and imperfectly, to trust a God who was present at every step even when that presence was hard to see. It is about a wife who carried more than anyone should have to carry with a composure that could only have come from a faith built long before it was needed. It is about what infertility and cancer and a newborn daughter in the same calendar year teaches you about what actually matters and who is actually holding you.

Enough Grace is for anyone who has been praying the same prayer for a long time without an answer. For anyone sitting in a waiting room, physically or metaphorically, holding something they did not choose. For anyone who needs to know that God does not promise an easy road but does promise to be on it with you.
