Enchanted Sword

It's been 20 years since the dead king's demise, yet evil still lurks within the powerful bloodlines in Wylan.

Alani Morgan knows this better than most. Determined to make a statement, she sets out to shine light on the truth by painting graffiti on the homes of the Enchanted who are abusing their power. Though most people assume the Graffiti Bandit is a man, the heir to the throne knows exactly who is behind the pointed messages. Rather than arrest Alani, Prince Warrick Valanova warns her to be careful.

When the prince calls an Assemblage of women to find a wife, the country is distracted, giving Alani the perfect cover for her art. Until she gets caught. Fearing for her life, she stumbles to a tree, using a sword she finds there to defend herself. Getting caught is one thing, dying for her art another. She flees to the castle and finds Prince Warrick, begging for help. But when she goes to give him the sword, it won't leave her hand.

The sword contains the Enchantment of Katarina Valanova, an old magic trapped in the weapon. Scrambling to keep Alani safe and buying time to figure out the mysterious sword, Warrick puts Alani in his Assemblage. Now she's stuck at the castle playing dress up and partaking in an Assemblage she wanted nothing to do with. And when she discovers an attempt on Warrick's life, Alani realizes more is going on at the castle than she ever could have imagined.

Why has this apparently sentient sword bonded to Alani? Who is trying to kill the heir to Wylan? And why?
