Efficiency Through Laziness

Efficiency through Laziness is an examination of and guidebook to the concept that laziness is a tool that can be utilised to reduce the amount of work required to get by in a world that is obsessed with work and hustling and sees constantly being busy and stressed and tired as some kind of weird badge of honour.

The purpose of "efficiency through laziness" is to minimise the time and brain-space taken up by things that don't matter, but kind of have to be done, so that you can better spend your time on what you actually care about. It is about asking yourself "how would a lazy person do this task". It is not about not doing things, but instead looking for the most efficient way of doing things, and sometimes also not doing things (if you think you can get away with it). It is about rejecting the culture of always being busy, and instead saving time for the things in life that really matter, or even kind of matter, or just saving enough time to take a few breaths.

Efficiency through laziness is a response to a world obsessed with productivity and planning every second of your day, a world that seems to have missed the point of life (if there is one) a world that seems to push everyone to make sure they are switched on and busy all the time, in a way which is leading to people burning out and being miserable.

Hopefully it is a book which will help some people see that laziness can be a tool that can help them live their life in a way which is better for their life, allowing them to relax a bit more each day, and not feel so stressed all the time.
