A Drama Podcast Screenplay. Dragonfly, tells the story of two young soldiers from Manchester. Tommy Conlon and Colin Lindsay. We begin on the day of the Manchester bombing, back in 1996. The two boys are ten-years-old and playing in Bogart Hole Clough. They are being observed by a strange, looking Dragonfly. Suddenly, Colin catches the insect off guard and grabs it. He gently holds for a second, then lets it go. The 'Magical' Dragonfly remains unharmed and is grateful. It decides to stay with the two boys until their very end. Twelve years later, now both Paratroopers, Colin and Tommy are supposedly killed in action in Afghanistan. However, at the same time, they are seen in Manchester. Tommy at the birth of his baby daughter. Colin having a drink with his Father in their local pub. Six years on, ex-Army officer and now novelist James Pearson, receives a visit off a former Sergeant-Major with a book idea. He relates this strange tale. Of how the soldiers temporarily came back to life. So, unfolds Dragonfly...
The Author
John Ludden is a highly experienced, prolific author/playwright from Manchester, England, whose work has been published in three languages. He has been writing full time for ten years. John's work also includes chronicling the career of Diego Maradona, with the now cult classic, and number one Amazon best seller, Once Upon a Time in Naples. This was the basis for the major MARADONA movie released in 2019, directed by Asif Kapadia. In 2023, Amazon confirmed Once Upon a Time in Naples became the first self- publishing book to reach number one across the football, biographies and ball games. John is also an avid Manchester United supporter and has up to this point seventeen pieces of work in the Amazon Manchester United top hundred. He has also wrote radio plays which have been broadcast on the BBC. Amongst other projects he did a series of highly, successful drama podcasts that have been performed live across Manchester venues, including the legendary Lowry Theatre. John has a huge selection of book titles available across Amazon. These include both drama and sporting topics. His stories range from AD.79 to 2027! He has ghosted several books including a boxing autobiography that also reached number one on Amazon. Gomez. Currently, he has begun work on his CINEMATIC series. A new idea where projects begin as screenplays and are then adapted into short stories. This is already proving a huge success. One of these, Unforgettable, has recently been published in Naples by publishing house La Valle Del Tempo. They have also published John's book on Scott McTominay entitled The Bottle Opener of Naples. This recently was also number one on the Amazon charts. He can be found across social media. John's two great footballing loves are Manchester United and SSC Napoli. He suffers the trials and tribulations of both with huge passion as his family will gladly testify!
