Quiet and unassuming sixth grader Dobrev Reign hides many secrets-secret number one: he can see ghosts. Secret number two: his only friend is a ghost that's been dead for over one hundred years. Secret number three stayed a secret longer than number one did, and although he'd like to keep it that way, a cute skater boy might disrupt the timid nature in which Dobrev lives. When a school field trip to Salem reveals the presence of another ghost-seer, Dobrev finds himself welcomed into a budding partnership with the colorful Achille Descoteaux, a highly knowledgeable clairvoyant whose bad boy reputation pushes Dobrev to hide their new friendship from his adopted family.

Dobrev and Achille team up against a malevolent spirit who has attached himself to Dobrev's vulnerable soul, all while learning more about their unlocked supernatural abilities through spooky interactions and equally-tragic childhood memories. Between flirty cemetery phantoms, ominous nightmares and genderbent Halloween costumes, Achille and Dobrev try to balance paranormal adventures with their developing bond, not knowing this ghoulish year will change the way they live forever...
