This book is part of the book series Taylor's Tales and is the second book in the series - the first book is 'Out of My Shell: Taylor's Tale of Friendship'.

This book beautifully showcases the diverse ways to experience the senses - sight, sound, taste, touch, and smell - highlighting the incredible variety of preferences that exist. I wanted to focus on sensory exploration because our daughter Taylor who is autistic and non-verbal has taught us so much about the unique ways each child experiences the world. A central theme I want to convey in this book is that it's perfectly fine for children to explore their surroundings in their own unique way. The sensory spectrum is vast and every child navigates it differently.

This story is about Taylor the Turtle is a non-verbal autistic character who delights in discovering the wonders of the world around her in a unique way. As she makes her way back to the ocean, she encounters new friends and learns about the various ways different sea creatures experience their surroundings. Some enjoy the sounds of the ocean, while others prefer a more peaceful environment. Some are attracted to bright sunlight, while others find comfort in the shadows. Taylor also discovers that some friends need a little extra assistance to enjoy the world fully, like using glasses for better vision or hearing aids to enhance their hearing.

The characters in the book are inspired by the incredible people in Taylor's life who provide her with unwavering support and have learned to connect with her in her own world.
