Diabetes to Dialysis to Transplant-What You Can Learn From My Recoveries proves people with diabetes can rise to the challenge and live a normal life. Determined to take control of his health, Dave Crotzer set out on a quest to prepare his body mentally and physically for any obstacles. For him, that included regular dialysis, open heart surgery, and a kidney transplant.
By offering a candid, personal account of his trials and treatments while waiting for a kidney, Crotzer has detailed the strategies and mindset that helped. He faced medical battles head-on by following the advice of doctors and trainers, but also by doing due diligence researching everything pertaining to diabetes. Crotzer shares what worked and didn't work, as well as his most embarrassing moments, along the way.
In addition to staying informed and making healthy lifestyle changes, Crotzer reveals that having a good sense of humor and a solid support system go a long way. Both a cautionary tale and a self-help memoir, Diabetes to Dialysis to Transplant champions the human will power to survive and thrive.
