Deceived

The book is based on the story of an ex-non-devout Catholic who became a Christian in 1998 after hearing the Word of God preached in an evangelical church. After attending a parochial school for eight years, being an altar boy, and attending thousands of Catholic Masses, salvation was accepted as an adult 33 years after leaving the Catholic Church. Upon leaving Catholic school in 1965 I did not participate in any further Catholic Masses unless there was a wedding or funeral involved in the event of family members.

In discussions with my siblings about becoming a Christian, I was met with some odd reactions and harsh responses. I came to conclude that Catholics have no idea of the Word of God and even condemned the Bible as being man-written. Catholicism has been written by a man with hundreds of doctrines, if not thousands, and change after change where God's Word remains the same, unchanging. In fact, in my trying to reason with them, the discussion is always about the Catholic Church and nothing about salvation through Jesus Christ alone.

I intend to get this writing to non-believers and, of course, devout Catholics to know Jesus.

I was born in Pittsburgh PA to a devout mother and non-religious father. As a US Army veteran, I was given the Late Great Planet Earth by Hal Lindsey in 1970 the year is was published. The end days information never left me and 27 years later went to an evangelical church and heard the Gospel. I was a changed man after thousands upon thousands of masses as a church member not to mention an Altar Boy. The Bible was nonexistent in the Catholic church, so I studied it for the last almost 30 years and still do in my daily life devoted to Christ. My devout brothers walk away from me in sharing my testimony in commenting "that the Bible was written by man and means nothing". Both Catholic University graduates. One a doctor and one with a master's in political science. They won't listen so my story and the only way to salvation I have put in writing.
