Die Bundesrepublik Deutschland ist ein Einwanderungsland. Aus diesem Befund ergibt sich für die Rechtssoziologie die Frage, wie sich das Rechtssystem ändert, wenn es sich auf die Anwesenheit von Ausländern einstellen muß. Der Sammelband zur Jahrestagung der Vereinigung für Rechtssoziologie 1993 zeigt, daß die besonders interessanten Antworten nicht die direkte Reaktion des Rechts im Ausländer- oder Asylrecht gibt, sondern der eher subtile Bedeutungswandel "normalen" Rechts in der Konfrontation mit einer geänderten Gesellschaft. Ausgehend von einer (rechts-)soziologischen Theoriebildung (C. Leggewie), dem Staatsangehörigkeitsrechts (L. Hoffmann), Rückwirkungen auf das Demokratieprinzip (B.-O. Bryde) und Lösungsansätzen für Kulturkonflikte in den Niederlanden (F. Strijbosch) werden diese Wandlungen des Rechtssystems im Schulrecht (H.-P. Füssel), am Beispiel des Frauenhandels (E. Niesner) und der Rechtsberatungshilfe (H. Lau) anschaulich. Der Sammelband wendet sich an Rechtssoziologen und an alle, die sich anhand der behandelten Einzelfragen einen Überblick über die aktuellen Probleme von Einwanderungsgesellschaften aus rechtssoziologischer Sicht verschaffen möchten.
