The gods of Ancient Greece were very much like mortals in their behaviour. They argued, they laughed, they cried, and they fought. They had never known love, however, before the arrival of the sweet, golden Aphrodite on Mount Olympos. Amidst their presence, she awakened strong feelings of unknown passions, especially in the great lord Zeus, who suffered dire consequences because of this new goddess' powers.
Aphrodite's care-free nature soon came to an end when she found herself in a forced, loveless marriage with the fire-god Hephaistos. When she fell in love with the war-god Ares, Aphrodite began an affair which had to remain secret, or she and Ares would find themselves in the midst of a great scandal which could tear them apart.
